FDI capital is an opportunity but not the main driving force for the era of growt

The National Assembly of Vietnam focuses on discussing socio-economic issues. At the recent session, deputies of the National Assembly of Vietnam focused on discussing socio-economic issues of top concern. One of the prominent issues is the role of foreign direct investment (FDI) in economic growth.

The delegates said that, although FDI makes an important contribution to GDP growth, Vietnam needs to diversify its growth drivers and reduce its dependence on this source of capital. To achieve the goal of becoming a high-income country, it is necessary to focus on developing internal resources, improving labor productivity and innovation.

In addition, issues of budget management, effective use of financial funds, and public investment in the fields of education and health were also of special interest to the delegates. Close supervision of financial funds, ensuring the efficient and transparent use of capital is one of the urgent requirements.

The delegates also expressed concern about the social insurance situation, especially the use of social insurance funds. It is necessary to have solutions to ensure that the social insurance fund is used effectively and sustainably, ensuring the interests of employees.

The main issues raised at the meeting included:
  • Diversifying growth drivers: Reducing dependence on FDI, strengthening internal resources.
  • Improve the efficiency of budget use: Arrange reasonable spending, strengthen supervision.
  • Invest in education and health: Improve the quality of human resources, ensure social security.
  • Effective management of financial funds: Ensure transparency and efficiency in the use of capital.
  • Social insurance: Ensure the interests of employees, use the fund effectively.
